Samsung SCH-A790: 4-range GSM/CDMA handset for Europe and America
Samsung introduced its new SCH-A790 mobile handset operating 4 ranges: CDMA (1xRTT) 800/1900 MHz and GSM 900/1800 MHz.

Sized 86.3x50.8x25.4 mm at 119 g weight, the phone has 262K-color internal and 65,536-color external display. It has a digital camera and 10MB memory, supports MMS and voice dialling. CDMA talk time is 2.9 hours, while standby is 141 hours; GSM talk time is 4.7 hours, while standby is 145 hours.
The handset is expected to be offered to Verizon Wireless subscribers for $350.
HGST announces Travelstar C4K60 for use in consumer electronics
HGST, hard disk division of Hitachi, announced the new small 1.8" HDD for consumer electronics.
The company replaced the standard notebook connector of Travelstar C4K60 with a ZIF socket that is a current standard for CE drives. This reduced drive size by 10% (down to 3,780mm2 square size) at 46 g weight. C4K60 has about 99.8 Mbit/inch2 data density allowing for 30GB maximum capacity.
