Some words about P4 6xx series

Intel Celeron M: 350 and 360 models announced

Some words about P4 6xx series

According to The Register, Intel is going to ship desktop Pentium 4 Extreme Edition with 2MB L2 cache. At least Japanese sources expect P4 6xx series early next year.

Besides, 3.73 GHz P4 Extreme Edition should be introduced late in Q4 2004. It will be made using 90nm process and (at least initially) will technologically relate to Pentium 4 than to Xeon. This will be the first P4EE with 7xx rating.

According to PC Watch, 6xx series will debut in Q1 2005. Initially the series will include 4 processors with 3.2, 3.4, 3.6 and 3.8 GHz clock rates and 640, 650, 660 and 670 ratings. 4 GHz P4 will also arrive in Q1 2005 with 580 rating. From the first glance the purpose of 7xx series is not clear as there are similar 6xx. But it seems the answer is FSB: 1066 MHz of 7xx and 800 MHz of 6xx.
