IBM introduces new ThinkPad T42p
In the nearest future IBM Japan is to start shipping new IBM ThinkPad T42p notebook series on Pentium M 755 (2.0 GHz) with ATI MOBILITY FIRE GL T2 graphics. The senior model (2373-KZJ) will cost ¥455,700 éåí ($4180). Besides, T42, R51, X40 series will also be updated, with one model each.
IBM ThinkPad T42p (2373-KZJ) bases on Intel 855PM chipset, has 1GB PC2700 DDR SDRAM, 60GB 7200rpm HDD with active protection system, Rescue & Recovery and Rapid Restore.
ATI MOBILITY FIRE GL T2 (AGP 4x) has 128MB RAM, the 15" display supports 1600x1200 resolution. The notebook has DVD-RAM/R/RW (8x DVD-R), Ethernet 10/100/1000BASE-T, IEEE 802.11a/b/g, IrDA 1.1, 56K modem, Bluetooth 1.1, 3 x USB 2.0, S-VIDEO, PCMCIA (CardBus) TypeII/TypeIII.
As for other novelties, their features are:
- ThinkPad T42 2373-MJ4: Pentium M 1.5 GHz, 512MB DDR SDRAM, 40GB HDD, multi-format DVD, 14.1" LCD, ¥243,600 ($2235)
- ThinkPad R51 2887-MJ0: Pentium M 1.5 GHz, 512MB DDR SDRAM, 40GB HDD, multi-format DVD, 15" LCD, ¥233,100 ($2140)
- ThinkPad X40 2371-BJ1: Pentium M 1.0 GHz, 512MB DDR SDRAM, 20GB HDD, 12.1" LCD, ¥ 186,900 ($1715)
