SiS162U WLAN chipset to be used in solutions from 6 companies

Silicon Integrated Systems informed that 6 manufacturers of WLAN USB modules decided to use company´s MAC/baseband SiS162U processor in their solutions.

SiS162U is a compact (10x10mm) wireless chipset that doesn´t require additional Flash or SRAM. It supports 64-/128-bit WEP/WPA and, according to SiS, allows for lower energy consumption. The chipset comes with NDIS drivers for Win9x/ME/2000/XP/NT4.0, diagnostic software and EEPROM SiS162U programming utilities and supports Linux, WinCE 4.2, WinCE .NET environments.

By the moment it will be used in Cnet Technology´s CNUSB-611, CC&C Technologies´ WL-1207, Billionton Systems´ USBWLS, Cameo Communications´ WLB-1500, EDIMAX Technology´s EW-7119U and Global Sun Technology´s GL-2411UD.
