Elpida launches volume production of 2GB registered DDR2 SDRAM DIMM modules Japanese Elpida Memory launched the volume production of its 2GB registered DDR2 SDRAM DIMM modules on 512Mbit chips. Currently these modules provide one of the highest bandwidths available on the server market alongside 4.3GB/s throughput (PC2-4300). The modules are 4.8mm thick due to the stacked BGA packaging.
![]() The utilized EBE21RD4ABHA-xx memory chips provide throughput up to 533Mbps and are organized 256M words x 72-bits x 2 rank (36 x 0.11µm chips). EPoX graphics cards: classification, first photos, shipment dates For the first time we got to know that EPoX was planning to enter the graphics cards market as far back as the last Autumn. However the first confirmed information about EPoX graphics cards became available only now introduced by the company itself. As the produciton partner EPoX selected NVIDIA. And we already know that the company will be advancing the entire series from GeForce MX440/MX4000 and FX5200 to FX5950 Ultra. But, judging by the photos of EM440/EM4000 (GeForce MX440/MX4000) retail boxes, the first products we should actually see would be low-end.
![]() Inexpensive graphics on GeForce MX440/MX4000 and FX5200 should be marked with EM prefix, while the cards on GF FX5700 and GF FX5950 Ultra should be marked EF. For example, a GF FX5950-based model will be marked EF595. Our Chinese colleagues from PC POP who visited the EPoX´s official presentation on January 10 reported that novelties on NVIDIA GF4 MX440-8X, MX4000, and GF FX5200 should arrive to Chinese retail these days already. And finally some photos from EPoX presentation in Peking:

ATI unveils its new high-end FireGL X2-256t graphics card ATI Technologies extended its high-end series with a new FireGL X2-256t solution. However it has the same four geometry engines and eight parallel rendering pipelines.
![]() ![]() The other features didn´t change at all: 256MB of 256-bit DDR II memory, dual DVI-I, drivers certified for 3dsmax, SolidWorks, MicroStation, Maya, and Softimage XSI. The professional FireGL X2-256t graphics card will be introduced already this week in ATI´s partners workstations. The MSRP of FireGL X2-256t is $899.
