Photo of the day: Albatron Gigi FX 5700 Ultra graphics card We are currently testing Albatron ´s new graphics card on NVIDIA GeForce FX 5700 Ultra – Gigi FX 5700 Ultra. It has 128MB of 128-bit DDR II memory, 475/900MHz clock speeds. Similar to Albatron´s previous high-end models, FX5700U features patented Wise Fan ll cooling operating on "2+1 Backup" scheme, when the reserved fan is enabled if either main fan stops or GPU temperature rises to 56°C. The cooling system is claimed to provide about 25dBA noise.

This is the first compact solution with a 6Mp matrix. According to the company, the model is positioned as a replacement for F601 Zoom and utilizes the same SuperCCD HR matrix as used in S7000 Zoom that enables 12Mp interpolated resolution (4048x3040).
![]() Brief specs:
3.2GHz Pentium 4 XE reaches the retail South Korean Say25.com reports that the first Pentium 4 Extreme Edition processors reached the retail. Naturally, they have 3.2GHz clock speeds, 2MB L3 cache, support 800 MHz FSB and work with Socket 478 on i865PE (865G) and i875P. The "Pentium 4 Extreme Edition" label on the box front and "Pentium 4 XE" side label clearly indicate that "EE" and "XE" stand for the same, as we have reported before.
![]() ![]() Besides 2MB L3 cache, the new Pentium 4 XE (Xeon Edition? :) differ by 1.55V voltage (vs. 1.525V of usual P4). Finally, in Korea Pentium 4 XE costs quite a price 1.3 million won (about $1080)!
![]() What is really interesting, British The Inquirer states that Pentium 4 XE will remain deficit in USA, where it´s available only in ready systems from several companies, including Dell, Alienware and Evesham. However, according to one of British distributors, when this processor arrives these days, it will cost considerably less than $925 at the moment of announcement. P.S. Those who still don´t know why Pentium 4 XE is worth a closer look and also why it costs so much should read our Pentium 4 Extreme Edition vs Athlon 64 FX article. Source: Say25.com
NVIDIA GeForce MX4000: the good old NV18 renewed According to Korean The Darkcrow, NVIDIA launched shipments of GeForce MX4000 GPU, which was nothing but a new version of the good old GeForce4 MX440-8X named NV18B. In particular, information about GeForce 4 MX 4000 was also found in nv4_disp.inf file from ForceWare beta 53.03.
![]() ![]() The new NV18B supports 128MB or 64MB of 128-bit DDR (16M x 16), 275/400 MHz (DDR) clock speeds, D-Sub, DVI-I, TV-Out. It´s interesting that this new AGP 8X chip has TMDS and S-Video controllers integrated into the core. I guess the performance will still remain the same, as the clock speeds hasn´t changed. ![]() Source: DarkCrow
