Despite Computex 2003 ended, products it had brought would be repeatedly mentioned in the news, and some will be announced officially only in some months.

Today we introduce you the photos of NVIDIA multimedia products showcased at Computex 2003. It seems these NVIDIA Personal Cinema solutions would be actual in the Fall and Winter.

LXE introduces a new industrial MX6 PDA

LXE Inc. introduced a new industrial PDA with a barcode scanner — MX6.

MX6 bases on 400MHz Intel Xscale PXA255; features 240x320 color LCD, 64Mb RAM, 32Mb flash ROM, 802.11b, Secure Digital slot. Sized 245.3x87.6x42.3mm, it weighs 573g.

Similar to most LXE devices, MX6 is a specialized solution that supports Adaptus Imaging Technology and is able to scan 1D and 2D barcodes, make photos (e.g. of damaged goods) that is an important warehousing feature.

Two more Mebius series notebooks: powered by Athlon XP-M 1800+

Sharp announced two new Mebius series notebooks, based on Athlon XP-M 1800+ CPUs, that will go on sale on October 3. Although the price is still unannounced, it could be about $1255 äîëëàðîâ for the model with 12,1" screen (PC-MC1-3CC) and about $1433 for the model with 14,1"screen.


All the specifications of the models are the same:256 MB RAM (768 MB max), 40 GB HDD, DVD-ROM/CD-RW-drive, built-in V.90-supporting modem,one PC Card Type II slot, Ethernet port, 4 USB 2.0 ports, etc. — rather standard set.


Both devices support DirectHD technology that is used in MURAMASA PC-MV1-5CA and 7 more solutions: PC-MM1-H5W, PC-MM1-H3E, PC-RD1-D3U, PC-RD1-D3M, PC-MC1-3CA, PC-CL1-7DA, and PC-CL1-5CA. The dimensions of new models are: 281 x 262 x 22.5 – 33.5 for the PC-MC1-3CC and 310 x 262 x 25.2 – 33.5 for the PC-CL1-5CD, they weight 2.5 and 2.7 kg respectively.

ASUS-TPA-CHASSIS: a transparent ATX case

In Japan ASUS started sales of such an interesting do-it-yourself transparent ASUS-TPA-CHASSIS bundle.

ASUS-TPA-CHASSIS includes all components necessary for a ATX PC case that are made of coloured acrylic plastic. Of course, the bundle includes ASUS LED lights.

The size of an assembled ASUS-TPA-CHASSIS is 220x475x445mm. This provides space for 4 x 5.25" bays and 2 x 3.5". The weight is impressive – just 7 kg! The price is still open, so no information is available yet.

NEC LCD Technologies to ship new 21.3" UXGA LCD matrix

In October 2003 NEC LCD Technologies launches volume shipments of 21.3" 1600x1200 (UXGA) color LCD modules — NL160120BC27-02.

New solutions utilize NEC LCD´s proprietary Super Advanced Super Fine Technology (SA-SFT) that provides wider viewing angle and shorter response time. NL160120BC27-02 key specs are:

  • View area: 432x324mm
  • Diagonal: 21.3" (54cm)
  • Resolution: 1600x1200 (1.92 million pixels)
  • Dot pitch: 0.270x0.270mm
  • Brightness: 250cd/m²
  • Contrast: 500:1
  • Viewing angle: 170° vertical and horizontal (at over 10:1)
  • Response time: 25ms
  • Interface: 2 x LVDS port
  • Size: 457x350x25 mm
  • Consumption: 30.7W

Now we just have to wait for corresponding monitors to arrive.
