ATI´s R360 core officially named Radeon 9800XT Shuttle SB62G2 XPC: a new barebone on i865+ICH5-R PowerEdge 6600 Dell´s server on four 1.50 GHz Xeon MP Transmeta Crusoe TM8000 aka Astro aka Efficeon: now sampling in 1.1GHz Info and first photos of MSI K8T Neo motherboard on VIA K8T800 ATI´s R360 core officially named Radeon 9800XT According to The Inquirer, ATI officially named its R360 core Radeon 9800XT, having finally chosen between this and Radeon 9900 PRO. At Computex last year Gigabyte and ATI "played" with Radeon 8500XT codename standing for 300MHz GPU clock instead of the standard 275MHz. It seems Radeon 9800XT will have over 425MHz GPU clock and 700MHz memory clock. The Inquirer believes ATI will offer DDR-I and DDR-II models. According to them, raising clock speed to 425MHz in the 0.15-micron process is a hard engineering task.

Transmeta Crusoe TM8000 aka Astro aka Efficeon: now sampling in 1.1GHz Taiwanese The Digitimes posted fresh news on Transmeta´s Efficeon processor (former Crusoe TM8000) for inexpensive notebooks, consoles, web tablets. The company has started sampling Efficeon to notebook makers. 1.1GHz model is expected to be the first to arrive in volumes. First notebooks on it should appear already in Q4 2003.
0.13-micron Efficeon processors are manufactured by Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC); tested and packed – by Advanced Semiconductor Engineering (ASE). The detailed specs will be announced by Transmeta at In-Stat/MDR´s Microprocessor Forum (MPF) scheduled to October 13-16 in San Jose, CA.
