We are currently testing an interesting ABIT product — Siluro FX5900 OTES graphics card.

Though you are already aware of its specs, let me remind them in brief: NVIDIA GeForce FX5900 GPU, 128Mb of 256-bit DDR, 400/850MHz GPU/memory clock speed, D-Sub and DVI connectors, VIVO. New OTES cooling system provides noise up to 25dB.

Andrew Vorobyev, the editor of our Video section admitted that the finned cooling system is rather effective in heat dissipation and rather noiseless. Photos are below:






Casio announces 4Mp QV-R40 digital camera

Casio announced new 4Mp QV-R40 camera with 3 optical lens that should arrive for sale on August 7 with MRSP $337.

  • CCD: 1/1.8", 4 million effective pixels
  • Resolutions: 2304x1712, 2240x1680, 1600x1200, 1280x960, 640x480
  • Movies: Motion JPEG, 320x240 @ 15 fps, up to 30 s.
  • Lens: 3 optical, F2.8-4.9, 39 117 mm focusing distance (35mm equiv.); 60cm to inf. normal, 10-70cm Macro shooting.

QV-R40 features 1.6" LCD; 10Mb of integrated flash memory, SD slot and USB interface. Sized 88x32.7x60.5mm, it weighs about 160g.

Toshiba introduces 3.2Mp Allegretto M700 digital camera with 10x optical lens

Toshiba announced 3.2Mp Allegretto M700 digital camera with 10 optical lens that should arrive to retail in mid-August for about $420. The model features Canon lens (37-370mm, F2.8-3.1), 40 combined zoom. The package includes a 52mm adapter ring.

The camera also features 1/2.7" CCD supporting 2048x1536, 1600x1200, 1280x960, 1024x768, 640x480 resolutions. Focusing range is 50cm to inf. in the normal mode and 10cm Macro. Exposure ranges from 1/2000 to 1/2 s. The camera supports 320x240@15fps AVI and Motion JPEG movies.


Equipped with an external mic

The model features a socket for an external mic (in particular, for a directional one); utilizes SD cards; and has a USB port for PC connectivity. Allegretto M700 also has 2.5" LCD with 120,000 pixels.

Sized 109.6x66x76.8mm, it weighs about 300g (w/o battery and storage media).
