Still this solution is worth another, detailed mention, becoming available for masses.VIA EPIA M10000 is an integrated solution with a fixed 1GHz VIA C3 (Nehemiah core) with small cooling system.
4-layer Mini-ITX (170x170 mm) board features VIA Apollo CLE266 chipset (VIA UniChrome CLE266 Northbridge with int. MPEG-2 graphics + VT8235 Southbridge), 6-ch.VIA Vinyl Six-TRAC Audio (VIA VT1616), IEEE1394 Firewire (VT6307S) and USB2.0, 10/100Mbps Fast Ethernet (VT6103), S-Video, TV-out (VT1622), S/PDIF out, PCI slot. 1Gb DDR266 SDRAM is supported. The noise is leveled at 35-50dBA. And finally, currently at the company website VIA EPIA M10000 costs $199. I guess the actual price will be lower as in February it was planned to be $179.

The new 8x, 12x and 16x Anti-Aliasing on GeForceFX at 3DCenter.org "In conclusion nVidia now offers seemingly higher anti-aliasing modes than ATi (6x maximum), but they do so with mostly ineffective subpixel grids, especially in the highest settings. This way these modes eat a lot of performance and impress with their names, yet they are not (or at best marginally) better than 4xS, which has been introduced with the GeForce4 Ti and is also available on GeForce3 if you´re using a tweak tool.8xS anti-aliasing is the only mode that really exceeds the quality achieved with 4xS and it´s the only mode that can compete with ATi´s 6x anti-aliasing. Strangely enough nVidia´s Detonator control panel only exposes this mode for OpenGL, and offers a clearly inferior 8x mode for Direct3D. A tweaking tool like aTuner is absolutely required to get the better one of the two 8x modes for Direct3D, at least at the moment. With the higher-labelled 12x (Direct3D) and 16x (OpenGL) modes, nVidia seems to have missed the mark: Both offer little if any quality gains beyond 8xS. The 16x setting under OpenGL also performs worse than 8xS. And of course the 12x mode for Direct3D bears the name "16x" in the Detonator panel. This is completely unjustified and needs to be corrected." Read more at 3DCenter.org.
Shuttle SN41G2 SFF PC Reviewed at TechSeekers.net "The mix between the nForce2 + MCP-T and the small form factor make for an impressive piece of kit. The Shuttle SN41G2 builds upon all the qualities of the previous generations of SFF, to make an almost perfect PC. Dual Monitor support, Firewire, USB2.0, Dolby Digital support and encoding, TV-Out, and onboard 10/100 LAN is an extraordinary list of features and the performance of the SN41G2 is also inline with any similar specified full blown PC."Read more at TechSeekers.net.
Intel and AMD: new pricing for old processors Intel and AMD have officially cut prices for their processors. Intel is to make 3GHz Pentium 4 with 400/533MHz FSB cost $401. After 2.8 and 2.6 GHz processors with 800MHz FSB are available, prices for 533MHz FSB chips are to go down as well.AMD plans to cut prices for Athlon XP 2000+ to Athlon XP 3000+, as 64-bit Opterons should be announced on April 22. Athlon XP 3000+ price will suffer the biggest, over 30% cut.

HWZ review: Gigabyte GA-8KNXP Ultra (Intel 875P) "Overall, the performance of the GA-8KNXP Ultra is acceptable but it does left us wanting for more. Perhaps the board is just an early sample with a premature BIOS. However, even if Gigabyte could tune the BIOS a little more, we would only expect it to run on-par with the Intel D875PBZ (we might be wrong though). But bear in mind that its performance was not lagging very far behind since it´s at most only about 2% slower."Read more at HardwareZone.
