Buffalo Announces External Thunderbolt SSD
Buffalo announced an external Thunderbolt SSD in 128Gb and 256GB capacities, an upgrade to their HD-PATU3 series hard drives. Buffalo claims that at 330MB/s read the new SSD will be thrice as fast as the aforementioned HDDs.
The novelty comes in an aluminium body and has two interfaces: Thunderbolt and USB 3.0. At the moment, there's no information about SSD manufacturer, USB 3.0 performance, pricing and availability. The new SSD will ship with Apple's HFS filesystem but will also work in Windows.
