Microsoft Presents Handsets with Windows Phone 7.5
Today, Microsoft is presenting new Windows Phones with a launch event in New York City, for which they have built a six-story phone in the middle of Herald Square.
The company is unveiling three new handsets available from AT&T and one from T-Mobile USA:
- Samsung Focus S — offered for $199.99; features a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus display, 4G-capable speeds, is just 8.55 millimeters thick.
- Samsung Focus Flash — offered for $49.99; features a 3.7-inch Super AMOLED screen, packs a 1.4 GHz processor and a 5-megapixel camera.
- HTC Titan — coming soon on AT&T's 4G network; features the largest screen of any Windows Phone at 4.7 inches, is 9.9 millimeters thick, boasts an 8-megapixel camera.
- HTC Radar 4G — offered for $99.99 after a $50 mail-in rebate; has a 3.8-inch screen and polished aluminum frame.

Features advertised for Windows Phone 7.5 include:
- Windows Phone Web Marketplace;
- Multitasking that makes it possible to run multiple apps at once, so customers can pause a game to check email and then go back to where they left it;
- New Groups feature that lets customers create groups from their contacts and turn them into a personalized Live Tile on the Start screen;
- New Bing integration that includes Local Scout, a tool for finding both the expected and the unexpected nearby.
Also, anyone who buys a phone also gets a free $25 prepaid card for shopping in the Windows Phone Marketplace.
