Buffalo Announces Its Fastest External Blu-ray Writer

Buffalo Technology today announced its new MediaStation 12x External USB 3.0 Blu-ray Writer. Offering 12x Blu-ray write speeds in an external form factor, this new MediaStation drive is claimed to be the fastest on the market.



The MediaStation 12x External USB 3.0 Blu-ray Writer conveniently connects via USB 3.0 or USB 2.0, and includes the CyberLink Blu-ray 3D Ready Media Suite featuring PowerDVD with TrueTheater 3D HD for video viewing, PowerDirector for video editing, Power2Go for Blu-ray and DVD authoring and burning, PowerBackup for archiving and backup, and PowerProducer for HD video capturing and authoring as well as burning DVDs and Blu-ray. In addition, the MediaStation BR3D-12U3 ships with MediaShow for organizing photos and videos and InstantBurn to write and rewrite to supported discs. MediaStation BR3D-12U3 can also be used for periodic data backups and archives, preventing content loss in the event of a system attack by a virus or other malware.



With a simple setup and no required drivers, the MediaStation 12x External USB 3.0 Blu-ray Writer is ready to operate and supports the following media formats: BD-R SL 8x Read / 12x Write, DVD –R SL 16x Read / 16x Write and CD-R 40x Read / 40x Write. The new Blu-ray Writer is sized 6.3" x 2" x 8.7" and weighs under three pounds.

Backed by a limited one-year warranty, the MediaStation 12x External USB 3.0 Blu-ray Writer will be available later this month at the estimated street price of $349.99.
