Some Details of AMD 790GX Performance and Features
Our colleagues from Chile Hardware continue to provide us with screenshots of AMD's upcoming releases.
This time they posted some new slides of the AMD Roadmap, which show the summary of features of the upcoming AMD 790GX chipset and results of some gaming tests (conducted by AMD). The stated performance increase of this new IGP over AMD 780G at 1024x768x32 resolution is 33%.
According to one of the previous roadmap slides, the solutions based on 790GX + SB750 core logic should arrive in Q3'2008.
Testbed configuration:
- AMD 790GX - Phenom 9850 2.5GHz, HT 2GHz, 2GB DDR2-800, Catalyst 8.5, 256MB UMA;
- GeForce 8200 - Phenom 9850 2.5GHz, HT 2GHz, 2GB DDR2-800, Forceware 175.16;
- Intel G35 Express - Intel Q9300 2.5GHz, 2GB DDR2-800, 256MB DM, Intel GMA Driver 15.9.
