CeBIT 2006: ASRock (continued)
And we continue the tour around the ASRock booth. Since we have already taken a look at Intel-based solutions, it's time to proceed to products for AMD processors.
The 939SLI-eSATA2 motherboard, as you can guess from its model name, has Socket 939 for AMD Athlon 64/64FX/64X2 processors. It bases on ULi M1697 core logic, supports HyperTransport and AMD Cool'n'Quiet. The board works with 1000MHz FSB and up to 4 x DDR400 modules. You can also use AM2 processors with it by using AM2CPU (Future CPU Port).
Like many other company's products, this one supports Hybrid Booster overclocking. The SLI mode is supported by 1 x PCI Express x16 and 1 x PCI Express x8. Besides, there is 1 x PCI Express x1, 3 x PCI, 4 x Serial ATAII (3Gbps; RAID 0/1/10/5), 5.1-channel Realtek ALC 660 (High Definition Audio) codec and 100Mbps Ethernet. The motherboard supports Windows Vista.
The 939SLI32-eSATA2 is almost identical to the previous board, except for two fully-fledged PCI Express x16 slots. It bases on ULi M1695 Northbridge, features an IEEE 1394 (FireWire) port and faster 1Gbps LAN.
On the next photo is the K8SLI-eSATA2 on the same ULi M1697, but designed for Socket 754. The transition to AM2 or Socket 939 is possible with adapters. Here you can see this board with the AM2CPU. The K8SLI-eSATA2 resembles 939SLI-eSATA2 and also supports Windows Vista.
And here's that processor adapter, AM2CPU. It enables to install 4 x DDR2-533/667/800 modules of up to 8GB total capacity.
