CeBIT 2006: GeCube
In Hannover GeCube showcased a graphics card on 2 x X1600XT GPUs operating without CrossFire (!), i.e. theoretically enabling to use 4 GPUs on a CrossFire-enabled motherboard.
And this device can record data from external sources.
Below you can see how it works: the list of sources for recording (hardware MPEG-4) includes DVD players, TV, or camcorders. The device can make photo slideshows (it has an SD slot) and play DivX/XviD movies or ÌÐ3 files. It has a 20-120 GB 2.5" hard drive.
Besides these devices, GeCube introduced a multimedia entertainment gadget with wireless connectivity:
Specifications:
- Compatible with existing wireless networks
- Supports MPEG1-4 (up to 720x480), DivX/XviD and WMV9 (1080i ASP)
- Supports ÌÐ3 (VBR and 32-320 Kbps) and WMA (VBR and 64-192 Kbps)
