Planar Introduces 5-Megapixel Medical Display

Planar Systems today unveiled the Dome EX line, which includes the first 4-megapixel color diagnostic display medically certified for the healthcare field.

The Dome E4c (16:9) is designed for use in areas such as radiology, cardiology, nuclear medicine (NM), positron emission tomography / computed tomography (PET/CT), dermatology and the OR.

Planar is also introducing the new Dome EX line with color and grayscale displays in 2- and 3-megapixel resolutions, as well as a new 5-megapixel grayscale display. The new color displays are meant for use in a distributed PACS environment for areas ranging from radiology and cardiology, to dermatology and applications in the OR. The new grayscale displays (E2, E3 and E5) are designed for the diagnostic applications including CT, magnetic resonance (MR), ultrasound, CR, digital radiography (DR), NM, digitized film and mammography.

The Dome EX line of DICOM-calibrated diagnostic imaging displays features Planar's Dome DA4 hardware architecture. The novelties are compatible with Dome CXtra and Dome Dashboard software. The former monitors and controls DICOM calibration using data from the Planar RightLight integrated photometer. Dome Dashboard is a console application which enables PACS administrators and IT managers to centrally manage, control and report on their entire line of Dome medical imaging displays.
