Canopus Unveils Three TV Tuners And A Graphics Card
Canopus announced three TV tuners and a graphics card, all to go on sale on September 8.
DNT-888L Network TV Tuner receives TV signal and transmits it in MPEG-2 form over LAN. It´s expected to cost $365. The bundle includes FEATHER2005 V2 software that searches network for DNT-888L when its IP is not set. While this application is designed for Windows XP, the signal cen be received by a machine working under any OS. DNT-888L utilizes NEC´s noise reduction technology, Sony´s TV tuner chip and Philips´ MPEG codec. The novelty is sized 184x205x50mm.
The second TV tuner, Tigers (after Hanshin Tigers), is a USB solution that will cost about $90. Sized 61x13x32mm, it weighs 24g and supports stereo output.
The third TV tuner is a usual PCI solution with a price tag of about $165. It also utilizes noise reduction, hardware MPEG-2 codec and works with FEATHER2005 V2 software.
Finally, the MTVGA X700SE graphics card is interesting for its passive heatpipe cooling and RADEON X700 SE GPU. It´s expected to cost $200. MTVGA X700SE works at 400/500 MHz clock rate and features 256MB of 128-bit DDR. Interfaces include VGA (D-Sub), DVI-I and HDTV 720p with separate resolution/frequency settings. The bundle includes FEATHER2005 V2, Vision Express 2 (DVD recorder) and Show Time (DVD player).
