Xbox 360 finally announced
Last weekend the Microsoft finally announced its new Xbox 360 gaming console, so now we can forget about rumours and read the complete specs.
The compact body encloses a triple-core 3.2GHz processor from IBM. A large step ahead comparing to the 733MHz one of the previous version.
The summary performance is claimed to achieve trillion operations per second. To deal with the heat a water cooling system is used.
The console offers support for HDTV video, 3D sound and highest graphic detail levels. Xbox 360 pretends to be a universal home entertainment system capable of playing MP3 music, slideshowing photographs and playing movies. There´s a 20GB hard drive (upgradeable), 3 x USB ports. The console now also has replaceable panels, so modders are welcome.
Xbox 360 release is expected to be supported by respective releases from game developers. About 300 titles are scheduled for sales for Christmas, when the new console is to hit the stores.
