Acer unveils new Centrino-based TravelMate 6000
In a fresh press release Acer informed on started shipments of company´s new ultra light TravelMate 6000 notebook on Intel Centrino.
Acer TravelMate 6000 bases on Intel 855GME, 1.6GHz Pentium M, 512MB DDR33, 40/60GB HDD with Acer DASP (Disk Anti-Shock Protection), DVD/CD-RW or DVD-DUAL drive in AcerMediaBay, 802.11g, 15" SXGA+ (1400x1050) LCD, integrated audio, speakers and mic. TravelMate 6000 interfaces include 56Kbps V.92 modem, 10/100/1000Mbps LAN, 4xUSB 2.0, IrDA, VGA, CardBus Type II, Firewire (IEEE1394) 4-in-1 card reader (Secure Digital, SmartMedia, MultiMediaCard, Memory Stick.)
The battery provides up to 5 hours of operation, while Acer EasyPort docking station enables to connect additional peripherals. As for security, Acer TravelMate 6000 offers classic BIOS password, SmartCard reader and Platinum Secret utilities.
Sized 332x281x36mm, the model weighs up to 2.83kg. Acer TravelMate 6000 is bundled with installed Windows XP Home/Professional, Recovery CD, Acrobat Reader, Norton AntiVirus, Platinum Secret and NTI CD Maker.
