Magicolor 2300W: $500 for a color laser printer!
We had actually been expecting such a pricing breakdown in the color laser printing field for a long time. It was just about the company and its model that would pioneer the $500 line. Today we can give this title to Konica Minolta Printing Solutions that has cut MSRP for its Magicolor 2300W model by $200 at once – from $699 to $499.

If you remember, Magicolor 2300W color laser printer was first introduced as far back as in March 2003. As this happened after Minolta and QMS had merged, but before Konica and Minolta had time to do the same, the model was named Minolta-QMS Magicolor 2300W. Based on the previous 2300DL bestseller, the model provides 1200x600 dpi resolution, up to 16 ppm b/w or up to 4 ppm color performance. Magicolor 2300W features USB, parallel interfaces, 200-sheet tray, 32MB memory and works under Windows XP, 2000, Me, 98SE, 95.
I can say that in our market closest rivals of Magicolor 2300W are Epson AcuLaser C900 and HP Color LaserJet 1500 (OKI C5100n might do as well, but as it provides significantly faster color printing it´s comparable only from the angle of price). So it won´t be a surprise, if respective companies decide to cut prices for the aforementioned models as well.
