Toshiba to extend 5 notebook series at once
In the end of October Toshiba plans to extend a number of its notebook series. In the nearest future in the markets we should see Dynabook V9, EX, ES, A9, C9, all under Windows XP Home Edition with Office Personal Edition 2003.

Dynabook V9 (about $2200 in Japan) bases on Intel 855PM and 64Mb GeForce FX Go5200. It has 15" WXGA (1280x768) screen, 1.4GHz Pentium M, 256Mb PC2700 (up to 2Gb), 80Gb HDD, universal DVD recorder, IEEE 802.11b, Harman/Kardon sound system. Sized 360x270x25.4mm, it weighs 2.8kg. The standard battery provides 4 hours of operation.

Tri-spindle Dynabook EX (about $1600-2000 in Japan) A4 will be offered in as three models. The most powerful 522CDET3 on Intel 852GM has 15" XGA display, 2.2GHz Mobile Celeron, 256Mb PC2100 (up to 1Gb), 80Gb HDD, universal DVD recorder and TV tuner. Sized 330x282x38.4mm, it weighs 3.1kg. The average operation time is about 2.3 hours.

Dynabook ES ($1550 in Japan) on Intel 852GM will feature 14.1" XGA display, 2.50GHz Celeron, 256Mb PC2100 (up to 1Gb), 40Gb HDD, DVD/CD-RW. Sized 332.4x280.0x45.3mm, it weighs 3.5kg. Operation time is about 2.5 hours.

Dynabook A9 ($1350) A4 on Intel 852GM will feature 14.1" XGA display, 2.20GHz Mobile Celeron, 256Mb PC2100 (up to 1Gb), 40Gb HDD, DVD/CD-RW. Sized 332x293x33mm, it weighs 2.9kg. The average operation time is 2.8 hours.

The "all in one" Dynabook C9 (about $1700-2100 in Japan) on Intel 855GM will be offered in three variants. The most powerful of them, 214LDEW, will feature 12.1" XGA display, 1.40GHz Pentium M, 256Mb PC2100 (up to 1Gb), 60Gb HDD, universal DVD recorder, IEEE 802.11b. Sized 289x238x35.5 mm, it weighs 2.2kg. The average operation time is about 5.2 hours.
