Latitude C640: 2 GHz Mobile Pentium 4-M notebooks from Dell
This week Dell starts sales (at least in Japan) of its new á4 Latitude C640 notebook line based on Mobile Pentium 4-M processors.

Latitude C640 will feature Mobile Pentium 4-M with 2.0 GHz, 1.80 GHz and 1.60 GHz clock rates, 14.1-inch SXGA+ (1400x1050, 2.0/1.80 GHz models only) and XGA (1024x768) LCD screen.
Notebooks are based on Intel 845MP chipset, Mobility RADEON 7500 (32MB) graphics, have 128MB PC2100 RAM (1024MB max.), 20/30/40GB, 24È CD-ROM, 8È DVD-ROM or DVD/CD-RW combo, a number of interfaces and ports, pre-installed Windows 2000 / XP Home Edition / XP Professional.
Latitude C640 notebooks standard size is 319.5x253.6x36.8 mm, weight about 2.4 kg. The most inexpensive model with 14.1-inch XGA display, 1.60 GHz Mobile Pentium 4-M, 128MB RAM, 20 GB hard disk, 24È CD-ROM and Windows XP Professional will cost about $2000. The model with 14.1-inch SXGA+ screen, 2.0 GHz Mobile Pentium 4-M, 1024MB RAM, 40GB hard disk, DVD/CD-RW drive, integrated wireless IEEE 802.11b module and pre-installed Windows XP Professional will already cost $3700.
