Universal DVD recorder from Sony
According to IDG News Service, for the second week of September Sony prepares the announcement of a new, unique DVD recorder. It will support two opposing standards: DVD-R/RW and DVD+R/RW. Besides the fact that purchasing such a drive solves DVD incompatibility problems, it´s also interesting that Sony grew soft to DVD-R/RW: as you know, about a year ago its representatives declared cancellation of DVD-R/RW support.
It seems that Sony plans to release a really interesting, currently unique product. No details have been disclosed about the novelty yet. Though, as it often happens, any rival of Sony might repeat this original and profitable action, or rather almost any, as Toshiba and Philips rejected the support of two DVD formats.
P.S. The third DVD format DVD-RAM with discs enclosed into plastic cartridges sounds still seldom...
