New processors: what Intel prepares for us...
We´ve already reported that, according to some sources, Intel plans to announce new mobile 2.2 GHz Intel Pentium 4-M. Perhaps, new mobile Celerons will be announced as well. However, there is another interesting fact: 2.0 GHz Celeron, unannounced, appeared the last weekend in Japanese shops.
About a month ago we wrote, referring to Taiwanese sources, that Intel prepares 1.9 GHz Socket 478 Celeron for September, but there was nothing about 2 GHz model. By the way, in Japan the processor is only showcased, but not being sold, because sales must start after the official announcement. Does it mean that new 1.9 GHz / 2.0 GHz models will be announced in the near future? At least there´s no information about that in the Web.
Some words about showcased 2.0 GHz Celerons. There are now OEM variants (like 1.7 GHz / 1.8 GHz Socket 478 models initially were shown) marked 2 GHZ / 128 / 400 / 1.525v SL6HY MALAY, The approximate price is about 13500 yens (about $112).
I guess there´s no need to guess, as the evening can shed the light on it.
