NEC-Mitsubishi announces new TFT LCDs

NEC-Mitsubishi announced several new TFT LCD monitors to be sold from the end of November. Almost all devices feature D-Sub and DVI-D. All novelties also support Visual Controller utility for controlling settings from PC.


The first one, 18.1-inch RDT186S, supports 1280๕1024, 16 million colors, 350:1 contrast, 200 ๑d/m brightness, 31-82 kHz line scan, up to 85 Hz frame scan. Pixel size is 0.28 mm, response time — 30 ms, viewing angle – 160ฐ horizontal and vertical, energy consumption – 38W, dimensions — 398๕200๕403 mm, weight – 7.3 kg. Expected price – from 128000 yens ($1070).


Next one, 17-inch RDT176S, supports 1280๕1024, 16 million colors. Brightness — 260 cd/m, contrast — 450:1, pixel size – 0.264 mm, response time – 25 ms, viewing angle – 160ฐ vertical and horizontal, frame scan — 56-75 Hz, energy consumption – 38W, dimensionds — 374๕196๕384 mm, weight – 5.8 kg. RDT176S will cost from 74800 yens ($625).

Besides, there’s RDT176M variant with 1W stereo speakers. RDT176M will cost from 75800 yens ($632).


Finally, 15-inch RDT156S and RDT156M (w/speakers), support 1024๕768, 16 million colors. Brightness — 250 cd/m, contrast — 350:1, response time – 30 ms, pixel size – 0.297 mm, vertical viewing angle – 90ฐ, horizontal – 120ฐ, frame scan — 56-75 Hz, dimensions — 345๕166๕344 mm, weight 3.7 and 4.4 kg, respectively. RDT156S and RDT156M will cost 46800 yens ($390) and 49800 yens ($415).
