Cooling

We won't examine cooling systems of GeForce 9800 GTX+, GTX 280, GTX 260, because these are reference cards. We have already reviewed their coolers here, here, and here.

It's a good old cooling system: a small flat closed heat sink with a fan at the end that drives the air along the housing. The cooler is a bit noisy. Besides, it cools memory chips on the front side, while there are no heat sinks on the back side at all.

The same operating principle. Only dimensions are different: the closed heat sink is smaller now, but the surface area of the open heat sink on memory chips is larger. This cooler is quieter, but its noise is still audible.

We monitored temperatures of 9500GT cards using RivaTuner (written by A.Nikolaychuk AKA Unwinder). Here are the results:

These cores can be equipped with simpler cooling systems, even fanless models. The coolers installed on these Leadtek cards are excessive.
