Today we shall review another five graphics cards of the Juniper family dubbed Radeon HD 5750/5770. We'll do that so you have an idea what these products are capable of. Because they are not just labelled reference products, they have been actually produced by their respective manufacturers.

A few words about AFOX before we begin. This is a relatively new name in the market. The company was created as a subsidiary with Foxconn's funds involved. It also uses Foxconn's factories for manufacture own products.

Obviously, only the AFOX product differs from the reference design, having all memory chips on the front side of the PCB. The other cards almost copy the reference design in this regard, but have minor differences introduced by their manufacturers. The Sapphire product also bears a stylish illuminated cooler with the company logo.

These graphics cards feature audio codecs, so nothing else it required to transmit audio to HDMI.

Note that each of these cards has a 6-pin connector for external power supply.

Also note that products from AFOX and HIS have customized sets of outputs. I really have no idea why manufacturer continue to install VGA outputs, sacrificing versatility DVI could have provided. Getting a DVI-to-VGA adapter is not a problem nowadays. I also have no idea why they only installed three outputs instead of the reference four. I think the reference design of 5750/5770 graphics cards is more universal, meeting all user requirements.

Maximum resolutions and frequencies:

  • 240 Hz maximum refresh rate
  • 2048 x 1536 x 32bit @ 85Hz Max -- analog interface
  • 2560 x 1600 @ 60Hz Max -- digital interface (Dual-Link DVI/HDMI)

As for the HDTV support, a review is available here.
