Boxes

When we get new graphics cards, the first thing we see is their packages: boxes of all sizes and kinds.

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 285 1024MB

A nice glossy jacket with laser patterns, inside is a cardboard box. The card itself is packed in a foamed polyurethane box, bundled components are stored in another compartment.

Leadtek GeForce GTX 285 1024MB

A traditional cardboard box with a foamed polyurethane block, which holds the graphics card and cables/adapters (in another compartment).

Zotac GeForce GTX 285 AMP! Edition 1024MB

It's essentially the same package, only the box has a window, so the bundle is covered with a plastic lid.

Zotac GeForce GTX 295 2x896MB

Ditto.

As we can see, all cards are secured in their boxes. That's what matters, because there is no danger of transit damages. As for box design, it's all traditional.

Bundles

Speaking of bundle, that's what you may expect from a retail version:

  • User manual
  • Software CD
  • DVI-to-VGA adapter
  • DVI-to-HMDI adapter
  • TV-out adapter
  • External power splitters
  • HDMI audio cable

Let's take a look at each bundle now.

Gigabyte GeForce GTX 285 1024MB

This is not a complete bundle, because there is no DVI-to-VGA and DVI-to-HDMI adapters.

Leadtek GeForce GTX 285 1024MB

A complete basic bundle. Plus an old game as a bonus.

Zotac GeForce GTX 285 AMP! Edition 1024MB
Zotac GeForce GTX 295 2x896MB

These are very good bundles with bonuses (a game and 3DMark Vantage), HDMI cable. They differ only in power splitters (6-pin or 8-pin ones).
