Until 2009, XFX had been known as a maker of graphics cards based on NVIDIA GPUs. In 2009, the company considerably expanded the product line with ATI-based graphics cards and power supply units.

XFX's power supply unit line includes two series: XFX XXX Edition and XFX Black Edition. The latter includes 750W and 850W power supply units, while the former offers a 650W solution we'll review today: XFX P1-650X-CAG9.

The PSU design is quite original and the build quality is high. The box is also stylish and, what's more important, is convenient to use.

Specifications

All the necessary specifications are shown on the PSU. The +12VDC power is rated 624W which corresponds to a typical 650W PSU. The ratio of +12VDC output to total watt capacity is 0.96.

12VOC (12V output coefficient) is the aforementioned ratio of +12VDC output to PSU's total watt capacity. The higher it is, the higher is PSU's +12VDC output. This parameter simplifies the analysis of power supply units, especially those of non-standard nominal capacity.
