CeBIT 2002: Day 4 / Part 2
|
The Hercules' stand showed us only two video cards.
The following simulator is based on the 3D Prophet 7500:
The Seagate's booth was surrounded by other hard drive makers that is
why there were always a lot of people.
SiS unveiled its mainboard based on the SiS648(North Bridge), SiS963(South
Bridge) and SiS330(graphics). It supports AGP8x, DDR400 and MuTIOL 1G.
SuperMicro which is known for its server solutions had a small stand,
nothing striking.
VIA attracted a lot of visitors by demonstrating operation of mainboards
on numerous PC models.
Apart from PDAs FIC showed off a lot of computer components, as well
as FIC AquaPAD which is a tablet computer based on the TransMeta TM5600(500
MHz) processor. It works under the Windows XP or WinCE and has either 128
or 256 MBytes RAM depending on an OS. The computer supports a lot of modules,
in particular communication ones such as GSM, CDMA, 802.11a (b,g). It weighs
a little over 1 kg and can run 4-5 hours from a battery; an external keyboard
is supported. There are only several models which differ in a RAM size
and a processor speed. Data can be entered with a pen as well. You just
write on paper and the system either recognizes it or saves it as is.
