Lenovo Introduces Rugged ThinkPad Chromebook for Schools Genius Announces 12-buttons Gila Gaming Mouse Lenovo Introduces Rugged ThinkPad Chromebook for Schools Today Lenovo announced the ThinkPad X131e Chromebook, a fast booting, highly customizable ThinkPad built with rugged features, simplified software and security management for school administrators. ![]() The new Lenovo chromebook includes a rubber bumper around the top cover and stronger corners to protect the system in the case of an accidental drop. The hinges and hinge brackets are also strengthened to last more than 50,000 open and close cycles. Students can use the low-light webcam to communicate with students in other schools across the world or just across town. With HDMI and VGA ports, students can present their reports to the class with a projector or big screen TV. ![]() The 11.6-inch X131e laptop features an Intel processor, a 1366x768 HD LED anti-glare screen, and three USB ports. At less than four pounds and battery life for the entire school day, students can carry the laptop between classes without the need to recharge. Also, ThinkPad X131e offers a number of customization options including custom colors, asset tagging services to help keep track of devices left on the school bus or in the classroom, and school logo etching to make every device unique to each educational institution. ![]() The ThinkPad X131e Chromebook will be available starting February 26 via special bid. Source: Lenovo Genius Announces 12-buttons Gila Gaming Mouse Genius today announces the Gila professional gaming mouse, a 2013 CES Innovations Award Honoree, to the North American market. The novelty lets gamers switch among 5 different previously assigned sensitivity levels with the mouse, from 200 to 8200 dpi. The mouse also features six 4.5 gram weights, which can be added to a compartment in the underside. ![]() Gila has three LED backlights that can be independently tuned to the colors, degrees of brightness and pulsation style the gamer needs. Macros can be assigned to any of the twelve buttons on the Gila. The Scorpion UI lets you set up to 72 macros saved on the on-board memory ![]() The non-slick rubber coating claimed to provide a firm and comfortable grip when moving the mouse violently back and forth.
