Lian Li Rolls Out High and Narrow PC-X2000FN Enclosure Suitable for E-ATX Boards

Xilence Montclair Enclosure: ATX Motherboard, 7 Expansion Cards, 10 Storage Drives

Lian Li Rolls Out High and Narrow PC-X2000FN Enclosure Suitable for E-ATX Boards

Lian Li rolled out a new enclosure dubbed PC-X2000FN. The novelty has multiple features to boast of, but the most peculiar is its unusually narrow design.

Lian Li PC-X2000FN

At 693-mm height and just 240-mm width, the enclosure looks originally enough (resembling the older PC-X2000F). Inside, the PC case is divided into three compartments separated by metallic walls: the top one hosts storage drives, the middle is where you install the motherboard and expansion cards, the bottom is for the PSU and additional storage drives.

The top compartment has space for two 5.25" optical drives installed at a 90-degree angle (the bays slide to the side panel). This is done to keep things 'aesthetic.' Whether this would also make things convenient is up to you to decide. Aside from ODD, the top compartment can host up to four 3.5" and three 2.5 drives.

The middle compartment has space for an ATX, Micro ATX or even E-ATX motherboard. With it, you can use CPU coolers as high as 180 mm (7 in) and graphics cards as long as 340 mm (13.4 in). The back panel has ten slots for expansion card interfaces, letting you build rigs with three and even four graphics cards.

The bottom compartment can host PSUs as long as 230 mm (9 in) as well as three more 3.5" storage drives. The front panel is monolithic, power and reset buttons as well as frontal I/O are relocated to the top. There, under a small hood, are two audio interfaces, four USB 3.0 ports and one eSATA port.

Lian Li PC-X2000FN provides for multiple cable layouts and has liquid cooling nozzles on the back panel. Like most new PC enclosures these days, no tools are required for installation. By default, the bundle includes two fans: a 120-mm one in the middle compartment and a 140-mm one in the top. Optionally, you can install three more 140-mm fans.

Lian Li PC-X2000FN is to go on sale in September with the MSRP of $500.

Xilence Montclair Enclosure: ATX Motherboard, 7 Expansion Cards, 10 Storage Drives

Xilence introduces the new Montclair PC enclosure (P/N: GEH-XP-MON) for ATX motherboards. The novelty features meshed air ducts familiar from the previously released Xilence Interceptor PRO. The new PC case is a more affordable alternative to the more expensive Interceptor series, however, it keeps many features of the higher-end counterparts.

The Montclair is made of 0.5-millimeter steel and measures the impressive 43 x 18.5 x 41 cm (17 x 7.3 x 16 inches). This provides enough space for eight 5.25" bays, three of which are suitable for optical drives. The bundle includes two 3.5-to-5.25 adapters, and attaching any drives requires no tools. Besides, the front panel has a bay for two hot-swappable 2.5" drives.

Speaking of expansion cards, the enclosure can fit up to seven. There are also four 120-millimeter fan seats. The frontal fan is bundled, the other three can be installed on the back, top, and side panels. The back panel also features two nozzles for external liquid cooling. Speaking of cooling, enclosure's internal design provides for three different cable layouts. Finally, the front panel offers audio I/O and two USB 2.0 ports.

The MSRP of Xilence Montclair is 49.90 euros.
