At the GigaOm Structure Cloud Computing and Internet Infrastructure conference, AMD today announced availability of the new AMD Opteron 4000 Series platform.
This is the first server platform designed from the beginning to meet the specific requirements of cloud, hyperscale data center, and SMB customers needing flexible, reliable, and power-efficient 1 and 2P systems. This platform is also available for high-end embedded systems such as telecom servers, storage, and digital signage, through AMD Embedded Solutions.
New solutions have already been announced by at least MSI (MS-91F7 motherboard), SuperMicro (1012C-MRF, 1022TC-IBQF/1022TC-TF, 2022TC-BIBQRF/2022TC-BTRF) and Tyan (S8226, S8228, GT24B8226, YR190B8228).
Supermicro AMD Opteron 4000 Series Platform

PNY Technologies introduced new Active HDMI Cables certified to the latest HDMI 1.4a standard and delivering the guaranteed bandwidth of 10.2Gbps.
Measuring 3.6mm in diameter, the new High Speed HDMI cables are offered as HDMI to HDMI (Type A to Type A) and HDMI mini to HDMI (Type A to Type C). The former connect cable boxes, Blu-ray and HD DVD players, computers, AV receivers, or game consoles to HDTV sets. The latter connect small portable devices, such as digital cameras camcorder, to HDTV sets.
