Scythe Annouces Setsugen VGA Cooler

Scythe announced its new high-end VGA Cooler codenamed "Setsugen" (which means "snow field" in English). The novelty is equipped with a Slip Stream 120mm slim fan which comes with a fan controller to be mounted in a free PCI Slot. Fan speed can be individually adjusted between 800(±30%) to 2,000(±10%) rpm, creating the airflow of 19.40 to 45.47 CFM at the noise level of 19.53 to 33.67 dBA.

Setsugen utilizes the M.A.P.S. (Multiple Airflow Pass-Through Structure) fin structure used in the Mugen 2 CPU cooler. The novelty is divided into four fin blocks, each connected to a 6mm copper heatpipe.

Also, a new mechanism has been invented to simplify mounting. Depending on VGA card, four screws need to be shifted to the proper mounting holes and secured by means of the supplied backplate and thumb screws. Setsugen VGA Cooler is compatible with ATI RADEON HD 4850, HD 4870, HD 4890, HD 5850 and HD 5870 graphics cards, as well as NVIDIA GeForce GTS 250, GTX 260, GTX 275, GTX 280 and GTX 285 solutions.

The cooler is bundled with a number of aluminum heatsinks of different size and shape, as well as thermal compound, for more compatibility.

Setsugen VGA Cooler (SCVSG-1000) is available for &eur;27.95 (MSRP, excl. VAT) or $39.50 (MSRP, excl. tax).
