Transcend Releases 1GB DDR3 1066MHz DIMMs, Dual-Channel USB Drives

Transcend Releases 1GB DDR3 1066MHz DIMMs, Dual-Channel USB Drives

Transcend Information released its brand-new DDR3 1066MHz memory modules supporting Intel's high-performance desktop platforms. The DDR3 supply voltage has been decreased from 1.8V to 1.5V; thus reducing power consumption by 30% compared to the DDR2-800 U-DIMM. The lower voltage of DDR3 also provides a more efficient memory solution for Intel’s Bearlake series platforms. Transcend’s DDR3 1066 MHz memory module is now available in 512MB and 1GB capacities.

Transcend's 1GB DDR3 1066MHz Non-ECC Unbuffered DIMM uses 16 64Mx8 DDR3 FBGA chips. The 6-layer PCBs used in Transcend’s modules are designed to meet JEDEC (Joint Electron Device Engineering Council) specifications. In addition, DDR3 memory modules incorporate On-Die Termination to minimize signal reflections at higher speeds, thereby improving timing margins, which increase operating speeds. Other features include 8-bit prefetch architecture, ODT & OCD with ZQ calibration for better signal control, ASR (Auto Self Refresh) to improve thermal dissipation characteristics, lifetime warranty.

The company also released its latest Zinc Alloy USB 2.0 Flash Drive, the JetFlash V85, that measures only 49.5 x 15.8 x 7.4 mm and easily slides into tight-fitting stacked USB ports. Each JetFlash V85 comes with a short chain, so it can be hooked to a key ring. It is now available in 2GB, 4GB, and 8GB capacities, and is backed by a lifetime warranty. Transcend’s JetFlash V85 is compatible with Windows 98SE/2000/Me/XP, and the new Windows Vista.

Finally, the company released its Ultra-Speed USB2.0 Flash Drives: JetFlash 160, JetFlash 168, JetFlash 110, and JetFlash 2A. These models are equipped with dual Hi-Speed SLC NAND Flash chips (max. read 30MB/s, max. write 25MB/s). It is now available in 2GB, 4GB, 8GB and 16GB (JetFlash 2A only) capacities. They are compatible with Windows 98SE/2000/Me/XP /Vista, Mac OS 9.0, Linux Kernel 2.4.2, and are backed by a lifetime warranty.

All JetFlash drives come bundled with the JetFlash software package, which includes: AutoLogin, PC-Lock, Favorites, Secret-Zip, E-mail, DataBackup, My JetFlash, and Online update.
