SanDisk Introduces SanDisk Extreme IV CompactFlash Cards SanDisk Corporation introduced the new SanDisk Extreme IV line of CompactFlash cards. The line is targeted at photographers who require the highest possible performance and the largest capacities for their medium format and high-end digital single lens reflex cameras. The SanDisk Extreme IV cards are available in capacities of up to 8-gigabytes and deliver minimum read and write speeds of 40 megabytes per second. SanDisk also introduced the new SanDisk Extreme FireWire reader that can transfer images from the SanDisk Extreme IV cards to a computer at up to 40MB/sec. SanDisk Extreme IV cards use SanDisk-developed ESP (Enhanced Super-Parallel Processing) technology that combine fast NAND flash memory chips and controller designs, 32-bit RISC processing and advanced algorithms in an architecture that streamlines every aspect of read and write data transfer operations. In the U.S. and Europe, a free 30-day trial version of Adobe Photoshop CS2 software is bundled with each SanDisk Extreme FireWire Reader. SanDisk Extreme IV cards are designed to withstand the guaranteed operating temperature range from a minus 13°F (minus 25°C) to 185°F (plus 85°C). The cards also include RescuePRO software that allows photographers to easily recover accidentally deleted images, lost digital images or data. Apacer Introduces New AU522 MP3 Player Apacer Technology Inc. announced the release of the AU522 MP3 player with flash storage up to 2GB as well as 1GB MMCmicro card expansion, a bright two-color OLED display and a black matt finish. When combined with the direct USB connector, the AU522 naturally becomes a USB flash drive, plus performs card reader duties for transferring content to and from MMCmicro cards. Other full function features include dual earphone jacks that let two people share the fun, built-in FM tuner with FM recording, voice recording with built-in high sensitivity microphone and an A-B repeat function. Albatron Unveils AGP7600GS For AGP Market Albatron AGP7600GS graphics card boasts an NVIDIA 7600GS core built according to 90-nanometer process technology and uses an AGP 8x interface. The core has a frequency of 400 MHz and contains 12 pipelines. The card also has 256 MB of high speed 700 MHz GDDR2 memory with a 128-bit memory bus. The AGP7600GS boasts an improved fan/heatsink which is quieter than previous generations. As well, the fan/heat sink provides better air flow, even allowing it to cool adjacent components on the card. The AGP7600GS fully supports Microsoft DirectX9.0c, OpenGL 2.0, Shader Model 3.0, Intellisample 4.0 and is Windows Vista ready. The 3D graphics calculations include anti-aliasing and HDR (High Dynamic Range) technology.
