Joybook 6000: BenQ´s new notebook

BenQ introduced 12.1" Joybook 6000 notebook that supports 1280x800 resolution (instead of usual 1024x768).

Joybook 6000 bases on Centrino platform (Intel Pentium M + GM855), so it naturally has 802.11b/g adapter, MS/SD/MMC card reader, 2 x USB 2.0, 1 x FireWire (IEEE 1394). The model is rather compact 302x218x23mm and weighs 1.6kg. The battery provides up to 8 hours of operation (with extended-capacity battery).

SwiftTech unveils two liquid cooling kits: H20-220/80

SwiftTech updated its liquid cooling series with new H20-220 and H20-80 kits. The former is designed for both "home overclockers", and 12-fan multi-way systems and servers. The kit includes heatsink for 2 x 120mm fans (72 CFM, 34 dBA, 2,100 rpm). From the previous model, 22600, the novelty differs by a new pump (MCP650 instead of MCP600):

  • 50,000 hours MTBF
  • 6-14V voltage (12V nominal)
  • 24W nominal power at 12V
  • Supervisory controlled brushless engine
  • 50 PSI (3.5 bar) max. pressure
  • 650 g weight

The kit dissipates 115W maximum.

H20-80 is alike H20-220, but has 80mm fan (2,700rpm, 31.4 CFM, 28dBA). MCR80-F2 fan + heatsink couple is sized 81.6x104.8x82.5mm. The kit dissipates 100W when cooling agent is hotter by 15.

We are currently testing several flasg cards (1 GB SecureDigital, 128 MB and 256 MB MiniSD, 128 MB TransFlash) and two USB dongles (512 MB Cruzer and 256 MB Cruzer Mini) from SanDisk.

Lexar Media offers 4GB 80x WA CF cards

We continue to publish announcements of CF media with improved performance. Given this release rate remains, these cards might catch up with MMC 4.0 soon. Today´s announcement is from Lexar Media.

Novelties support 12MB/s write (80x) due to WA (Write Acceleration) technology. The company will be selling 512 MB, 1 GB, 2 GB and 4 GB cards for ¥19,800 ($180), ¥39,800 ($360), ¥79,800 ($725), ¥159,800 ($1450), respectively.

Besides, Lexar Media introduced a number of entry-level WA CF cards with 6MB/s (40x) write performance. Capacities include 256 MB, 512 MB, 1 GB. Cards will cost ¥8,980 ($80), ¥17,800 ($160), ¥34,800 ($315), respectively.
