ELSA FireGL X2/T2 series videocards — on ATI FGL 9800 and FGL 9600

ELSA GmbH announced ELSA FireGL X2/T2 series of videocards, based on ATI Technology Inc., ATI FGL 9800 and FGL 9600 GPUs.

ELSA FireGL X2-256 has four parallel engines and eight pixel pipeline with 256-bit memory bandwidth and 256 MB of DDR2 SDRAM at 700 MHz. The model is intended for CAD and DCC applications.

T2 series include two models — ELSA FireGL T2-128 and ELSA FireGL T2-64 (specially designed for mini PC cases), thar are equipped winth 128 and 64 MB of memory respectively, DVI-D & VGA-outs. ELSA FireGL X2/T2 Series adopt ATI latest SMARTSHADER, SMOOTHVISION and HYPER Z III technologies. SMARTSHADER technology supports OpenGL API and Microsoft DirectX HLSL which is compatible with latest DirectX 9.0 and Pixel Shader 2.0. SMOOTHVISION technology supports full screen anti-aliasing.

DiskOnKey by M-Sys — bootable now

M-Systems, developer of Smart DiskOnKey platform stretched the boundaries of the USB flash drive category by adding bootable functionality to its DiskOnKey family. It should be mentioned that bootable DiskOnKeys are those carrying the DOK T4 chip. Boot functionality can be easily activated through the specially designed bootability graphical user interface (GUI).

NEC MultiSync LCD1960NX — 19" addition to 60 Series of NEC-Mitsubishi monitors

NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Display of America, Inc. extended its 60 Series to include the new 19-inch NEC MultiSync LCD1960NX monitor with US$749.99 ESP.

NEC MultiSync LCD1960NX delivers a 0.294 mm pixel pitch, 250 cd/m² brightness (typical) 600:1 (typical) contrast ratio and 1280 x 1024 maximum resolutions. For wide compatibility with today’s computer systems and tomorrow’s digital output, the NEC MultiSync LCD1960NX provides DVI-D and traditional 15-pin VGA connectors. Response time of the model is 30 ms, horizontal and vertical viewing angles up to 170-degrees.

Dimensions of the model: (Without Stand) 16.4 in (W) x 13.9 in (H) x 3.0 in (D), weight — Net: 12.6 lbs.

Plextor announced 4.7 GB (120 minutes) DVD+R media

Plextor announced 4.7 GB (120 minutes) DVD+R media, which have a write speed of no less than 4x. The DVD surface is coated with a film layer, so that the discs are protected optimally against scratching. The new media come in 5-disc packs and will be available from September.
