CTX announces 17" M730V LCD monitor with a built-in webcam and mic
CTX International Inc. announced the first monitor featuring a built-in camera and a mic, enabling easier video conferencing. 17" M730V also features surround speakers, supports "picture-in-picture".
The monitor has analog and DVI connectors, 3-port USB2.0 hub and supports S-VHS and composite video. Its response time is 16ms, viewing angle — 160°, contrast — 450:1, max. resolution – 1280x1024.
The monitor is scheduled to retail to September 2003, its MSRP is about $1000.

OWC ships new 2.5" Mercury On-The-Go drives

Macintosh products and services supplier, launched shipments of new 60Gb Mercury On-The-Go portable hard drives working at 7200rpm speed; featuring 8Mb cache; supporting FireWire (6- and 4-pin) (OWCMOFW60GB72) and both FireWire, and USB (OWCMOFWU60GB72).
Drives weighs about 311g, sized 8.8x13.9x2.5 cm. They can work under Apple OS 8.6-9.2.2, OS X and Windows 98SE/2000/XP. Today these are the fastest company products available, as all previous 2.5" OWC drives supported 4200rpm or 5400rpm only.

"The Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 200GB drive performance actually was better than I thought it would be. The only downside some people may find with the drive is you do hear the heads moving during operations. I for one though do not mind this. It may be the car freak in me, but it makes me feel like my system is doing some work and doing it fast when I can hear it."
