Samsung today started to accept orders for new wide-format SyncMaster 172W, announced at Comdex Fall 2002. As we missed the press release, let me briefly describe the novelty, especially the worldwide sales are to start within these days.
17" SyncMaster 172W supports 1280x768 (WXGA) resolution at 15:9 side ratio. Pixel size is 0.2895 mm, max. brightness 450 cd/m, contrast 400:1, response time – 25 ms, viewing angle – 140° horizontal and 110° vertical, line scan – 30-81kHz, frame scan – 56-75Hz.
