A copy of the reference design with some factory overclocking.

The GeForce GTX 500 series has been a subject of so many experiments on vendor part that all that can be done with it has been done — custom coolers, GPU and memory overclocking — everything except for attaching the GPU on the other side of the card. A lot of really interesting solutions have been made, even more copies of the reference design have been produced. Today we have another copy but with some factory overclocking, it's AMP! Edition after all.

Specifications

  • GPU: GeForce GTX 570 (GF110)
  • Interface: PCIe 2.0 x16
  • GPU clock rate (ROPs/shaders): 780/1560 MHz (the standard is 732/1464 MHz)
  • Memory clock rate, physical (effective): 1000 (4000) MHz (the standard is 950 (3800) MHz)
  • Memory bus: 320-bit
  • Stream processors: 480
  • Texture units: 60 (BLF/TLF/ANIS)
  • ROP units: 40
  • Dimensions: 267x111x38 mm
  • Board color: black
  • Output connectors: 2 x Dual-Link DVI-I, Mini HDMI
  • Multi-GPU mode: hardware SLI

The card copies the reference design and, in fact, uses a GTX 580 PCB with a 384-bit bus. It just lacks two memory chips.

Maximum resolutions and frequencies:

  • 240 Hz maximum refresh rate
  • 2560 x 1600 @ 60Hz max. digital (DVI) resolution
  • 2048 x 1536 @ 85Hz max. analog (VGA) resolution

The card has two 6-pin supplementary power sockets.

Cooler

The cooler has a central heatsink with a vapor chamber, plates for cooling down memory chips and a fan. Like we many times said, a vapor chamber is more efficient than just heatpipes. Another good thing is that now fan speed changes smoothly depending on temperature. This boost cooling efficiency and greatly reduces noise under low load (unlike the cooler on GTX 480, for example).

Temperature monitoring results

We measured temperatures using the MSI Afterburner utility.

The maximum of 85°C after six hours of continuous operation under load is normal for this kind of graphics cards.

Package contents

A basic package should include a user manual, a software CD, and adapters where applicable. Now let's see what other accessories are bundled with each card.

This is a basic package with two power splitters and a DVI-to-VGA adapter. And a PC game.

Box

A big cardboard box with a window through which you can see the card. The latter is securely fixed in a polyurethane foam compartment.
