The heart of the cooler is a massive copper heatsink, boosted by heatpipes, mounted on the core. It doesn't cool down memory chips though. Then there's a big, slow fan that drives air both outside and inside the enclosure. The cooler is quite efficient and noiseless.

The idea is similar, but heatpipes transfer heat to two heatsinks, each with its own fan. Despite more moving parts, the cooler is noiseless, thanks to slow speed and high-quality fans. This solution doesn't cool down memory chips either.
