Bundle

The box has a double top with a transparent insert.

The bundle includes:

  • a user guide
  • a DVD with software and documentation
  • an ASUS sticker
  • a black backpanel faceplate with port names
  • 4 SATA 3.0 and 2 'regular' SATA cables with L-shaped connectors
  • a flexible SLI bridge
  • a Q-Connect front panel adapter set
  • an original Wi-Fi/Bluetooth module with two antennas

The bundled DVD includes all the necessary drivers, manuals, the AI Suite II toolkit, Wi-Fi Go! software, utilities from Intel, LucidLogix, Symantec, Marvell, Adobe, and other companies. Unfortunately, we haven't found the Live Update utility bundled, similarly to ASUS ROG motherboards. It's only UEFI that the automatic update is available for. The necessary drivers can be installed/updated by means of the "InstAll" button.

UEFI

The mainboard has the AMI-based UEFI with mouse support. In the basic "EZ Mode," the user can check the PC configuration, monitoring info, and set the boot device priority.

The advanced mode offers the full set of options, including:

  • Main: BIOS version, CPU and RAM configuration, time/date, UEFI and OS passwords
  • Ai Tweaker: clock rates, voltages, timings, power, overclocking, and system optimization
  • Advanced: settings for CPU, PCH, System Agent, SATA, USB, and external controllers
  • Monitor: system indicators, Q-Fan settings
  • Boot: boot settings, device priority
  • Tool: UEFI EZ Flash upgrade tool, oveclocking modes, SPD monitoring, Drive Xpert for the Marvel controller

No extra UEFI setup is required unless you're going to overclock. In general, this UEFI is rather simple and convenient. For tests we used version 1401.
