On the example of the reference NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 2048MB 256-bit GDDR5 (915-1015/6000 MHz).

Features:

  • GPU: GeForce GTX 670 (GK104)
  • Interface: PCIe 3.0 x16
  • GPU clock rate (ROPs/shaders): 915-1040/915-1030 MHz (the standard is 915-980 MHz)
  • Memory clock rate, physical (effective): 1500 (6000) MHz (standard)
  • Memory bus: 256-bit
  • Stream processors: 1344
  • Texture units: 112 (BLF/TLF/ANIS)
  • ROP units: 32
  • Dimensions: 241x111 mm, dual-slot
  • Board color: black
  • Power consumption (3D peak/2D/idle): 172/64/52 W
  • Display connectors: Dual-Link DVI-I, Dual-Link DVI-D, HDMI, DisplayPort
  • Multi-GPU mode: hardware SLI

In terms of design, GeForce GTX 670 is different from other products on the same core. Firstly, the slighly different power supply unit has been moved to the left, closer to output connectors. Secondly, the number of memory chip sockets has been doubled to 16. This clearly points at possible 4GB configurations. Thirdly, despite a very high number of chips, the PCB has been cut down to 190 mm (vs. 255 mm of GeForce GTX 680). With a fan, the total length is still 241 mm though. Such compact size is truly amazing (and rare, Radeon 9700 Pro is another example). Another great feature is a capability to work with 4 monitors simultaneously, stereo mode included.

This card has two 6-pin supplementary power connectors.

Maximum resolutions and frequencies:

  • 240 Hz maximum refresh rate
  • 2560 x 1600 @ 60Hz max. digital resolution
  • 2048 x 1536 @ 85Hz max. VGA resolution
