GlacialTech Siberia CPU Cooler
|
Heatsink
The Siberia features a horizontally-oriented heatsink and two fans: 140x140x25mm (upper) and 92x92x25mm (lower). Cooler dimensions are 146x150x120mm, the weight is 585g without bracketry.
The cooler body consists of a nickel-plated copper base block sized 40x30x5mm, an auxillary aluminium heatsink sized 57x40x16mm, 6 copper heatpipes 6mm in diameter and 46 aluminium fins with the total heat exchange surface area of about 3500 cm².
The advantages of the Siberia include:
- dual fans (the secondary fan provides airflow to the blind spot below the primary fan),
- large heat exchange surface,
- 6 heatpipes,
- optimal distance between fins (2.5mm),
- serrated profiling of fins to improve fan-heatsink consistency,
- secondary heatsink,
- reasonable layout of heatpipes which are connected to areas of intensive airflow provided by the primary fan.
The heatsink design is excellent, except maybe for simplified fin coupling.
