This is the first Pioneer's combo drive. And it ships only in the OEM version.
The design is very similar to a usual DVD-ROM from Pioneer, an austere
style. The drive supports the DRA (Dynamic Resonance Absorber) technology
that reduces noise and vibration.

The drive is not able to correct C2 errors, - this function is used by
some audio track capture programs. Like all other Pioneer's models, this
drive provides just minimal possibilities to reduce speed in operation
with CDs.
Nero InfoTool
It reads almost all existent formats of optical media. In other respects,
everything corresponds to the specs. The only funny thing is that the program
of the same company says that the drive does support C2 error correction.
:)
Nero - Burning Rom
The drives supports such a useful function as buffer underrun protection.
Besides, it's able to overburn discs. However, the write simulation mode
is not supported.
The drive is RPC-2 from the very beginning and it's impossible to turn
it into RPC-1.
