Jetway 845GDA (i845G) Mainboard
|
Time goes by, and once wide, the variety of Jetway's boards is fading away now.
This time only the memory slots are typically purple (colorful stickers
on the components supplement the picture). We had the board in the OEM
package.
Accessories:
-
Documentation: user manual in English;
-
Cables: 1 ATA66/100/133 and FDD;
-
CD containing:
-
drivers;
-
files with BIOS versions for a large number of Jetway's boards;
-
Magic BIOS;
-
Recovery Genius;
-
Hardware Doctor (system monitoring utility);
-
Award Winflash;
-
Adobe Acrobat Reader;
-
PC-Cillin 2000;
-
DirectX 7.0a;
-
DirectX 8.1.
The layout is not very handy (the cost of the small width): the CD-In
and power connectors are next to the board's rear panel, IDE connectors
are behind the PCI slots, and when a video card is installed it's difficult
to handle the IDE modules. But it's not difficult to reach jumpers when
the board is already installed. Their functions are shown on the textolite.
The 3-channel switching voltage regulator incorporates 13 capacitors
of 1500 uF.
The following controllers are integrated:
-
audio controller based on the Avance Logic ALC650 AC'97 codec supporting
5.1 audio systems and having a connector for front audio-outs and for SPDIF.
Non-unsoldered connectors: network controller and RJ45 connector, several
audio connectors.
The system monitoring is supported by the Winbond W83627HF-AW chip.
What is controlled:
-
voltage of processor, AGP bus, +3.3, +5 and +/-12 V, VBAT and +5 V Standby;
-
speed of 3 fans;
-
temperatures of the processor (a built-in sensor), and the board (a built-in
sensor).
There are 2 connectors for adjustable and 1 for unadjustable connection
of fans.
Brief characteristics of the board: memory slots - 2 DDR SDRAM; expansion
slots - AGP/ 5 PCI /CNR; I/O ports - 2 COM/ LPT/ 2 PS/2/ 6 USB 2.0; dimensions
- 305x210 mm.

We used the latest available version of the BIOS - BIOS A02.
This board, like any other from Jetway, is not an extraordinary product,
but it possesses quite good overclocking tools and a relatively low price,
which will certainly help it become popular with overclockers.
