9EJL0 (i845E) Mainboard
|
The board has a layout similar to that on the 9EJL1
model, but its accessory pack is more scanty and price is lower, - that is why
this is an inexpensive working horse. Accessories: - Package
of a standard design;
- Documentation: user manual in English;
-
Cables: 2 ATA66/100/133 and FDD;
- 2 CDs containing:
- drivers;
- user manual in PDF;
- Adobe Acrobat
Reader;
- Adobe Active Share;
- Norton Antivirus 2002;
-
Appio;
- AutoSave;
- EWalla;
- ImageMore;
-
Xstop.
The layout is quite handy, though some traditional flaws are still there: audio-ins
are located in front of the PCI and AGP slots and the FDD is behind them. It's
not difficult to reach jumpers when the board is already installed. Their functions
are shown on the textolite. The 3-channel switching voltage regulator incorporates
9 capacitors of 2200 uF and 3 of 1200 uF. The following controllers are
integrated: - audio controller based on the C-Media CMI8738/PCI-6ch-LX
chip with a connector for front audio inputs/outputs, an SPDIF connector and the
support for 5.1 audio systems;
- network controller based on the
Realtek RTL8100B supporting 10Base-T/100Base-TX.
The ITE IT8712F-A
I/O controller supports a smart card reader (the connector is provided).
Non-unsoldered connectors: AUX Power connector and AC'97 codec. The
system monitoring is supported by the ITE IT8712F-A chip. What is controlled:
- processor voltage, +1.5, +3.3, +-5 and +-12 V, VBAT, +5 V Standby;
-
speed of 2 fans;
- temperatures of the processor (a built-in sensor),
and the board (a built-in sensor).
There are 2 connectors for adjustable
connection of fans. Brief characteristics of the board: memory slots
- 2 DDR SDRAM; expansion slots - AGP/ 6 PCI/ CNR; I/O ports - 2 COM/ LPT/ 2 PS/2/
6 USB 2.0; dimensions - 305x230 mm.

available version of the BIOS of 29/04/2002. The speed is not very high,
its functions, settings and accessories are quite average as well, that is why
it looks a usual working horse at a quite attractive price. Test results:
