Acorp 7NFU400 (NVIDIA nForce2 Ultra 400) Mainboard
|
This board has no "frills" at all: it offers
minimal functionality and an OEM accessory pack. Some may like it: why to pay
for unnecessary controllers, cables and brackets if you don't need them?
The
board is pretty small, and this fact usually affects the layout: it can be difficult
to reach some jumpers when the board is already installed, and their functions
are not indicated on the PCB. The 2-phase switching voltage regulator incorporates
3 capacitors of 2200 uF and 5 of 1500 uF. There are also voltage regulators of
the AGP bus (2 1000 uF and several less capacious) and of the memory (1 of 1500
uF). Connectors which are left space for: PHY controller of the network
adapter and RJ45 connector, D-SUB connector. The board measures 305x210 mm (narrowed
ATX, 6 fastening screws, the board's edge with DIMM connectors hangs unfastened).
System monitoring is supported by Winbond W83627THF-AW chip. It controls:
- processor, AGP bus voltages: +3.3, +-5 and +-12 V, VBAT and +5 V Standby
-
rotation speed of 3 fans;
- temperatures of the processor (socket's
sensor) and the board (built-in sensor)
Ports & connectors
onboard
- CPU socket (Socket A/Socket 462);
- 3 slots for DDR
SDRAM DIMM (one pair painted a distinguishable color);
- AGP slot (not
Pro, with a retention clip);
- 5 PCI slots (32bit, 33MHz);
- 1 CNR;
-
Power supply connector: standard ATX;
- FDD;
- 2 IDE (Parallel ATA)
- on chipset;
- Connector for bracket with 2 additional USB (2.0) ports;
-
Connector for Game port;
- Connector for standard IR module;
- Connector
for audio-out from CD/DVD drive;
- Wake-On-LAN;
- 3 fan connectors
(2 with rotation control, 1 without it).
Rear panel (left to right,
in units)
- PS/2 ports for keyboard & mouse;
- 1 LPT and 2 COM ports;
-
2 USB (2.0);
- 2 USB (2.0) more;
- 3 audio connectors (Line In/Out
and Microphone).
The board is meant for a budget-minded customer who
doesn't strive for high functionality and all-in-one solutions. Accessories
- Documentation: user manual in English;
- Cables: 1 ATA66/100/133 and
1 FDD;
- I/O Shield.
Integrated controllers
-
audio controller based on the Realtek ALC655 AC'97 codec; 5.1 audio system supported,
front audio I/O connector provided.
